After putting on the Employee Appreciation Party last night, the committee members had the opportunity to skate on the ice too (still had the Stanley Cup logos on it and all).
I haven’t been ice skating since winter of 2008, before graduation, sometime at Lynah and I just remember it being awful. My feet hurt and I just felt awkward. I used to love skating, and be pretty good at it. I attributed a lot of it to my bad ankles (I’ve messed up both pretty badly at one time or another) but I’m sure it was just that I was awkward and unbalanced.
I actually felt kind of light on my feet, I know I still have so far to go and I’m currently at a point that’s a tipping point for many people, that it’s as bad as they let themselves get, but I managed to sink myself farther than that.
So even though I’m so far away, it was a new feeling to feel light yesterday…
[side note] [I was doing duty for the party at one of the building entrances and was sitting across from one of the elevators which has an mirror on the back wall. And I didn’t hate how I looked sitting down. Still stocky, sure, but not as round…]
